The opening lesson in a series, this one looks at the reactions of the different Royal Courts to the birth of Mary.The students will become characters present at the time. The lesson contains guidance the feelings of the key characters. Key Drama skills are thought-tracking,improvisation, appropriate use of language,presentation and giving feedback, snowball play technique, cross-cutting. It is intended that the students learn that Mary's life was destined to be a troubled one from the very start steeped in the politics and religions of the times.
We recommend that students do have some background knowledege to to topic which is historically based.
