Scots Night Entertainment - Age 9-12 DOWNLOADABLE

nessie

Are you having a Scots Night as Robert Burns Celebration or looking for a Scots Theme for your Leaver's Presentation ?

This is a full programme for such an event and takes the form of a walk through a very Scottish Waxworks.

When news reporters become trapped in there they walk through the different Halls meeting famous Scottish characters from fact and fiction. So who is there ?

Well there's Robert The Bruce and the Spiders, The Sporting Hall with Andy Murray and other famous Scots Sports personalities. There's Bonnie Prince Charlie, The Broons, famous Scots Inventors, Robert Burns and the mice from his famous poem, Oor Wullie and an encounter with Nessie the Monster....... you can select from these or do the lot!

You will receive the script and extension/musical ideas with links to tracks on free music sites  and you can (we recommend you do this) adapt this to incorporate the ideas of your students.

The piece is very suitable for two classes taking part and organisational notes are also included to help with the smooth running.

Your audience will be delighted with this wonderful, creatively presented Scottish Entertainment.

SUITABLE FOR AGE 9-11 although it has recently been done very successfully with a P3/4.

This play is DOWNLOADABLE on purchase. Performance Licence is included in the price.

"I took a gamble taking this on for such a young class but I am so glad I did. From the moment I introduced this to my children there was a buzz in the classroom. They took full ownership of it; from the bits they wanted included, music they could add, lines they could change; props they thought would work and actually making some of these.  We linked this to a Scottish topic so alongside learning their lines for their performance they also did little history lessons on the people they were performing.

Pupils who normally don't put themselves forward for things were brimming with confidence by the time it was show time. I had one or two pupils who initially didn't want a part but within a week or two of rehearsals and watching others they changed their minds and we tweaked the script to accommodate them.
I can't thank Julie enough for her help and support when preparing for this.
As someone myself who comes from no drama experience and who used to want to crawl under a rock when the word drama was mentioned, I cannot express how easy this resource was to use and inspire children."
