This lesson works very well alongside class work on the topic. It is largely movement based and intended to help students to consolidate their understanding of how volcanoes happen. key drama skills are movement, configuration mime, group work. They will learn and simulate the effects of friction, use vocal sound effects and consider different types of eruptions.

There is also a whole class movement activity which accompanies this lesson (in diagrams) for use with suggested music.

Movement and physical drama is a great way to help students to really gain practical understanding of class work.
